In recent times, there seems to be monopoly in online video streaming and most corporates & individual users are now left with no options other than YouTube. Apple should have attempted to create their own platform to upload and share videos. With no dedicated video platform for Apple, it must depend on its competitor to upload its own product demonstration videos. This have enabled platform like YouTube to highlight competitors' advertisements in between and ensure people’s attention is grabbed, which in turn impacts buyer's decision. In addition, it has created monopoly environment, where the platform can decide, whether the video requires visibility among users, and it has capability to even hide the video from its recommended sections based on algorithms. By missing out creation of video platform dedicated for Apple or for its ecosystem, Apple has lost heavily on revenue potential and for creators who hate YouTube for its ridiculous monetisation schemes and limitations on content moderation. In recent times, most viewers were also frustrated with YouTube embedding too many advertisements into the videos uploaded in the platform and most the actual video content diversion happens due to competitors advertising before start of the video. I also have suggestions for Apple to launch their own video platform to compete against Google’s YouTube and to know more, please feel free to check out articles published in G R Team sites.
