Recently I was watching "Being John Malkovich" on Direct TV and thinking about how it was my favorite movie. The premise of the movie revolves around a young man (John Cusack) who is unhappy with his marriage to an extremely nerdy Cameron Diaz. As a struggling puppeteer John's character is forced to find a job in an office. Once he settles in to his new position he accidentally finds a secret portal behind a file cabinet. This secret portal, one entered, leads to the inside of John Malkovich's head. As John Cusack realizes he is inside the subconscious of John Malkovich, he wants to share this new discovery with his wife. John Malkovich appears in the movie as himself and at one point in the movie has a chance to visit the inside of his own head, which really is a bizarre and funny moment. As John Cusack becomes addicted to being inside someone else's head, he realizes he can control Malkovich's movements using his own thoughts. The movie is a very unique and interesting movie that can be viewed over and over again. It really becomes interesting when Cameron Diaz starts visiting the portal to secretly have dates with the woman John Malkovich is dating (Katherine Keener). A sort of love triangle begins to unfold as the movie goes along. While visiting Malkovich's mind each visit only lasts for 15 minutes. And at the end of each visit the person falls from the sky and lands in the grassy center of the New Jersey turnpike. Without giving away too many details, there are several other unpredictable stops along the way for this movie. It certainly is a must see, but at the same time won't be for everybody. If you go in with an open mind and don't expect anything but the unexpected then you will enjoy "Being John Malkovich" also.
